What a Ham! (November 19, 2013)

It has been quite some time since I last wrote. It is amazing how quick the time has gone since our beautiful boy has come into our lives. He is such a smiley guy and has so many expressions. He is quite a ham! He has really gotten into rolling from his back to front, making diaper changes a bit more challenging. Those legs of his keep getting stronger every day most likely because jumping is one of his favorite things to do. He loves grabbing people's faces and getting them to smile. He celebrated his first Halloween (as did Farrah). And he is now eating pureed foods.

What's Handsome, Solid, and Curious? (October 4, 2013)

What's new with Leo?

Leo is such a happy baby boy. He is now able to sit up on his own while being closely supervised, manipulate objects large and small, and push up onto his hands while in tummy time. He is constantly studying faces and grabbing at anything put in front of him. He is easy going and is so impressed with his puppy. She is currently the coolest thing to watch. Farrah and Leo could not get along better. She cannot pass by him without giving him a lick and he is just as eager to reach out and touch her fur. I can only imagine the trouble they will get into once Leo starts walking.

We are looking forward to the beautiful fall colors. Many of the maples have already changed colors and are losing their leaves. We are excited for Leo and Farrah both to experience a new season together.

Big Helper in Action (September 4, 2013)

I can't believe our little bugaboo is a 1/3 of the way to his 1st birthday. We have truly been enjoying every moment. He becomes more and more fun with each new day.

He has turned into quite the helper around the house: grabbing for the bird seed as mom fills the feeders, helping to open the mail, feeding Farrah her yummy-looking dog food, taking things off the fridge that apparently don't belong there, successfully grabbing Mama and Daddy's food off their plates and the list goes on.

He has discovered his feet. And I have discovered why they call the pose "happy baby" in yoga class. He has found new ways to vocalize, sometimes with mouth wide open and other times with pursed lips. Jumping is his favorite form of exercise. He has gladly received the nickname "jumping bean".

He is slowly losing some patches of hair but still has a lot on that head of his. He still has bright blue eyes and long eyelashes like his daddy. His dimples are still there and in my opinion are more prominent now that he has gained more cute, healthy baby weight.

Farrah is a loving, caring big sister. She can't get enough of licking Leo's legs, tummy, back, whatever. Leo loves her right back, constantly reaching for her and feeling her soft fur. There's nothing better than a puppy and his boy.

As the school year begins, we are looking forward to watching Daddy coach football, fall camping, bike rides and taking Farrah on her daily walks. We have also been busy in the garden. I have been canning pickles and salsa and freezing applesauce, beans and zucchini. When have also been enjoying beets, tomatoes and peppers and are waiting for the squash, carrots and brussel sprouts to finish growing. We can't wait to introduce Leo to some of his first pureed foods fresh from our garden in less than 2 months!

3 Months Already! (August 3, 2013)

On Thursday I turned 1/4 of a year old! I have really filled out from the small 6 lbs 12 oz. don't you think? I have grown out of my first set of clothes and I am now into the bigger stuff.

Likes:
Grabbing objects...like my toys, my mom's glasses and Farrah's fur.
Scooting and pivoting on my belly.
Kicking anything within legs reach.
Smiling when I'm smiled at.
Listening to Raffi and the Okee Dokee Brothers.
Dancing.
Sucking on my fist, my thumb, your fist, your thumb and Daddy's nose.
Doing baby yoga.
Letting Farrah licking me.
Being outside.
Being read to (I can't wait to read Uncle Luke's books!).
Visiting my friends at Bridgeman's.

That's just a few. Check out how big I've gotten. Farrah's big too, but Mama and Daddy say she is done growing. I'm not done.
